E!GO
E!GO Midi Controller + Touchpad

E!GO as the name says it s a controller for my own studio, built in my own room and designed to control Ableton Live! a nice piece of software that has already captured the attention of former Steinberger/Logic/Protools users. Whether with Ableton or with other software EGO has been thought for live performances or real time tweaking. But here we go with some tech details for the geek:

4 faders with 4 pots on top , typically for volume/pan settings

12 encoders with 12 blue backlit buttons to enable/disable plug ins/channels and real time tweaking of the sound

7 functional buttons (the colored ones on the top) can be assigned to change the setup or other specific tasks

1 touch pad to be used as a common laptop touch pad and as a X, Y double parameter controller on Able ton thanks to the rocking switch that can be seen just on top of the pad that will latch the position of the cursor: this special switch actuates as a continuously pressed left button... it s not clear? Email me and i ll try to explain

1 joystick with central button to control 2 control change and 1 note on/off

..now let s have a look at those 3 mini jack plugs (left of the joystick) the are 4 (2 inputs each of the first 2 connectors) digital and 1 analog ports, they can be connected to different devices. At the moment the only device I ve developed is a modified Alesis floorboard with 1 expression pedal and 4 buttons but an infrared/distance sensor and a digital maracas sensing the "shaking" movement will be ready

USB connection will also power up the box with compatibility with Linux, OSX and Windows although use of Windows is highly discouraged in any case any moment for any task

one big special thank to the MidiBox Project people for the invaluable help and sympathy
